Michael Graves
A native of Indianapolis, born 1934, he received
his architectural training at the University of Cincinnati and Harvard
University. In 1960, he won the Rome prize and studied at the American
Academy in Rome for two years. Currently he is the Schiemer Professor of
Architecture Princeton University, he also has his practice in Princeton,
New Jersey.
Mr. Graves has been in the forefront of architectural
design for the past 35 years. His work has directly influenced the transformation
of urban architecture from the abstract "Modern Architecture" toward more
contextual and traditional themes. He creates designs sympathetic to both
the general program of use and the context of the site.
He has been called "The most truly original
voice the American architecture has produced in some time". An internationally
known architect, four volumes of his work have been published and a fifth
is in progress. He designed, ( among more then 100 others ) the Whitney
Museum, Humana Building, Hotel New York, Euro Disney, Diocese of Newark
Chancery Building and - St. Mary's, Rockledge! We obtained his serves through
